Surprises are overrated, anyways. Duncanville (29-1) and Kimball (26-2) finished the regular as The Dallas Morning News' top-ranked teams in the 6A and 5A/Others classifications, respectively. A combined record of 55-3 — 30-0 in district play — will certainly do that. Duncanville opened the regular season ranked No. 1, while Kimball started at No. 3 but overtook the top spot in January. The similarities end just about there, as one team will continue playing this season and the other won't. Duncanville, No.
