Duncanville 2023 forward and Texas Longhorns signee Ron Holland has been named the Gatorade Texas State Player of the Year, per an announcement Wednesday. Holland is one of two signees in the incoming class, joining Southern California Academy (Castaic, CA) guard AJ Johnson. He's the third player from Duncanville's elite hoops program to win the award and joins an elite group of former winners that includes former and current NBA stars like Chris Bosh, Marcus Smart, De'Aaron Fox and the great Shaquille O'Neal.
