So far, so good. Facing a Highlanders offense led by four-star quarterback recruit Mabrey Mettauer, the Mustangs pinned their ears back and delivered a strong performance during a 49-21 victory on their home turf. North Shore stuffed The Woodlands in the run game and put enough pressure on Mettauer to force the junior signal-caller into some key mistakes. The Mustangs took advantage with turnovers. Cornerback Jacoby Davis returned an interception 53 yards to the end zone, and defensive lineman Jaylon Joseph corralled an errant pass on a screen attempt to set up another touchdown.
