The 2021 Owls could have used nose tackle De'Braylon Carroll and more of safety George Nyakwol. Last August, Carroll suffered an injury that prematurely ended his sophomore season. Nyakwol missed the last seven games with an injury after picking up 25 tackles and two interceptions over the first five games. Both are healthy and ready to go. 'This season is truly a blessing for me because it definitely wasn't a guarantee,' Nyakwol said. The renewed presence of those two players on defense is refreshing for the Owls, who are coming off a 4-8 season, with two losses decided in overtime.
