One of the best games of Week 5 will have Waxahachie playing at DeSoto on Friday. A win for DeSoto would likely mean that it would play Duncanville for the District 11-6A title on Oct. 28. But a loss this week could help DeSoto come playoff time. DeSoto, which has the fourth-largest enrollment in District 11-6A, will probably make the playoffs regardless of a win or loss against Waxahachie. But if Waxahachie makes the playoffs — which it almost assuredly would do if it wins this week — that would send DeSoto to the 6A Division II playoff bracket.
